Initiated by alumni from the Department of Media and Communications, UnMediated is an interdisciplinary, student-led research journal, which welcomes agitative and original works at the intersection of politics and communication.
The team behind UnMediated is committed to generating new thinking and action on issues of personal and political import – from the rise of digitally-mediated nationalist enclaves to the estrangement of personhood in an era of ubiquitous data collection. Drawing from an international network of emerging academics, visual artists, community organizers, and writers, UnMediated understands that changes in the social and material environment at once influence and are influenced by divergent communications practices. UnMediated is published both online and in print, and is currently accepting proposals for its upcoming issue entitled Disruption.
